Every summer Jor and I take a trip somewhere new and every winter we start dreaming of the next one. We have a zillion pictures from our adventures, on a bunch of different computers, and nothing in albums. We hardly ever look back at our photos, and that’s kind of a shame!
A few weeks ago, I decided to start doing a little scrapbooking so that we could actually look at our pictures, and so that stories from our adventures wouldn’t be forgotten.
A friend gave me a really nice leather photo book for Christmas and I thought it would be the perfect home for our 2011 Crater of the Moon, Grand Tetons and Yellowstone photos! So I spent a few hours one night printing out my favorite pictures from our road-trip.
And the next night I started putting the book together. Here are a few of my favorite pages:
I searched for adventure quotes on Pinterest and found several that I loved. I added these to our book using a fine-tipped sharpie.
Luckily, my husband saves every receipt and postcard from our trips!
This made putting the book together extra fun.
I drew a map between each destination and added little notes about our mileage.
These still make me laugh. Jordan is literally jumping for joy at the sight of the Tetons. It really was so exciting to travel all that way and finally see them.
This book didn’t have enough pages to fit all of our photos so I used washi tape and scrapbook paper to add more.
For my first scrapbook, I’m pretty happy with the way it turned out!
I’m extremely grateful and excited that there is now a record of this adventure we had together, something that our kids and grandkids can look at. I hope by looking at this that they will be inspired to go on their own adventures and I hope they will take this book with them!
